Samsung said its Galaxy ring, unveiled in January’s Unpacked, is capable of monitoring fitness and health-tracking.

At its Unpacked presentation, Samsung surprised stakeholders with the $399.99 smart ring after months of tease.

Samsung explained that there are two encouraging aspects about the ring that it has added to its line of wearables.

Indeed, Oura and similar products have demonstrated that there is a large market for them.

Second, its feature enhances everything that gadgets like the Galaxy Watch already do, rather than simply replacing it.

Ben Wood, an analyst at CCS Insight, explained that Samsung made an “interesting bet” with its product decision, adding that the company projects that the global market for smart rings will reach approximately four million units by 2025.

He told the BBC,  “That is a rounding error when compared with 250 million smartwatches that are also expected to be sold.”

The Samsung Galaxy Ring is available in gold, silver, and black and composed of grade 5 titanium alloy as well as comes in US ring sizes 5 through 13.

The ring’s sides taper into the centre, creating a concave pattern and under a covering of epoxy resin, all of the health tracking sensors, batteries, and charging pins are located inside.

Pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Ring open on July 10 and go on sale on June 24 with the ooening price of $100 for Samsung Galaxy Watch 7, less than that of the Galaxy Ring, which is $399.

Furthermore, the Galaxy Ring has a single price, in contrast to the Oura Ring, which has a range of prices depending on shape and material from $299 to $549.

Earlier report stated that after negotiations with management fell, workers at Samsung began a three-day national strike.
