Super Eagles midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has disclosed that he hopes to play as many games as possible for Lazio after sealing a loan move from Hatayspor of Turkey.

Dele-Bashiru spoke during his unveiling ceremony said that he also hopes to win some trophies and finish the season in the top four for the Serie A side.

He recalled that Lazio first showed interest in acquiring his services seven months ago, but at that time, he was just focused on finishing the season with Hatayspor.

According to him, “I am very excited to join Lazio. It is a big club, with incredible fans, in a big city. I can’t wait to start the season.

“The club first showed interest in me in January, but at that point, I was just focused on finishing the season with Hatayspor. Subconsciously, however, I already knew what I wanted and that this was the next destination.

“I hope to play as many games as possible, hoping to win some trophies and finish the season in the top four in the league table.”

Dele Bashiru added: “My idol has always been Yaya Touré. I consider myself a box-to-box midfielder, I like to run and shoot.

“This is why I have always been inspired by Yaya Touré, I try to replicate his way of being on the pitch. I hope that my characteristics can marry Serie A. League One was very physical, with a lot of aerial challenges. But I think that in Italy with the intensity and tactics that distinguish every match, I can grow further. I can’t wait to get started.”
