According to transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano. shared on his official X handle, Raya has now been signed on a permanent basis by Arsenal in a deal worth £27 million.

Romano’s post on the micro-blogging platform stated that the deal has already been decided and completed with Arsenal set to issue a formal statement regarding the deal.

‘‘Understand Arsenal have now formally activated the buy option for David Raya from Brentford.

‘‘He’s an Arsenal player on a permanent deal for £27m as planned; it was already decided and now completed.

‘‘Formal statement to follow but all done for Raya as key part of #AFC project.’’ Romano wrote on X.

Arsenal completed the signing of Raya last August on an initial £3 million loan deal with a £27 million option to buy in the summer.

The £27 million option has now become an obligation to buy because David Raya was able to meet certain conditions in the contract relating to appearances.
