Stefano Pioli in three-man list to become new Al Ittihad manager

Former AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli replaces Marcelo Gallardo as the new manager of Saudi Arabia pro-league side Al Ittihad.
A post shared on X (formerly Twitter) by football transfer guru Fabrizio Romano saud Al Ittihad has included Pioli in a three-man shortlist.
According to him, ‘‘Stefano Pioli, one of the three main options to be new Al Ittihad manager. Al Ittihad are discussing three candidates and Pioli has been included in the shortlist after leaving AC Milan.’’
Th comes after AC Milan appointed Paulo Fonseca as manager after talks with Spanish tactician Julen Lopetegui failed. Lopetegui has now signed for EPL side, West Ham.
The 51-year-old Portuguese, who managed Lille from 2022-2024, now replaces Stefano Pioli, who left AC Milan by mutual consent.
Fonseca, previously with Roma, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Porto, has signed a three-year deal with AC Milan until 2027.
AC Milan had advanced talks with Lopetegui to replace Pioli, but Lopetegui chose to join West Ham, replacing David Moyes.
