U.S.-based tech startup, Iozera, partners Morocco to establish 386MW Data Center and AI Hub
The Moroccan government and American tech firm, Iozera, have announced a project that would revolutionise the artificial intelligence sector.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the construction of a cutting-edge 386MW Data Centre and AI Hub in Tetouan, Morocco, has been signed, according to Iozera.
Lozera claims it stands at the frontier between advanced technology and everyday business, offering a gateway to the future of data management, AI productivity, and advanced storage solutions.
Additionally, the goal of this strategic alliance is to increase the accessibility of GPU-based processing for scholars, entrepreneurs, and companies worldwide as well as in Morocco and the United States. The programme will spur innovation and advance the sector by making these resources more easily accessible.
This partnership is noteworthy mostly for its dedication to sustainability. By utilising Morocco’s plentiful renewable energy resources, the facility will make it possible for the AI Hub and data centre to run on pure, green energy.
This is in line with Morocco’s aggressive targets for renewable energy and demonstrates the country’s commitment to a sustainable future.
“This strategic partnership is designed to democratize access to advanced AI computing resources, improving the availability of GPU-based processing Graphics Processing Unit) for researchers, startups and enterprises in the United States, in Morocco and around the world,” explains Lozera.
The MOU signing ceremony is set for May 8 in Austin, Texas, and is expected to draw notable attendees from the global IT community as well as Morocco.
