In anticipation of World Health Day on April 7th, Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Peter Obi, visited the College of Nursing Sciences at St Charles Borromeo Specialist Hospital in Onitsha and made a generous donation of N10 million to support the college’s activities.
Expressing his commitment to promoting crucial areas of human development, Obi revealed his longstanding involvement with the college since its inception, emphasising his continuous support even during his tenure as Governor.

Obi stressed the importance of training more healthcare professionals, particularly in light of the impending global shortage of nurses.
He lauded the College of Nursing for its significant contributions to addressing this need and expressed hope that his visit and financial contribution would further aid the institution’s growth and impact on the health sector.
Acknowledging the efforts of the college’s proprietor, His Grace Most Rev Valerian Okeke, and the entire management and staff, Obi encouraged nursing students to uphold their profession’s noble principles by prioritising their academic and moral education.
