The organizers of the Italian top-flight football league, Serie A, have shared a message on social media platform, X (formerly Twitter) saluting Maduka Okoye for his wonderful display in goal for his club side, Udinese.

The Super Eagles goalie put up a sterling performance as Udinese beat local rivals Lazio FC in a league match played on Monday night at the Stadio Olimpico, Rome.

In the game which ended 2-1 in favour of Udinese, Maduka Okoye made six saves, one standing save and one punch with his only blemish being the yellow card he received in the 67th minute.

While reacting to his display on the night, Serie A wrote on their X handle: “Another great performance by Maduka Okoye .”

The heroics of the goalkeeper has helped his club to end its winless streak after drawing two and losing one of their last three games before the match against Lazio.

In the game which had Gianluca Aureliano as the centre referee, Udinese scored first in the 47th minute through Lorenzo Lucca.

Lazio equalised through an own goal scored in the 49th minute by L. Giannett but Udinese restored their one-goal advantage in the 51st minute through Oier Zarraga which proved to be a decisive strike.
