Bode Abifarin, resigns as Flutterwave’s COO

Bode Abifarin, a former Associate Director at KPMG has left her role as Flutterwave’s chief operating officer (COO).
The MBA graduate of Imperial College London confirmed this in a post on her official LinkedIn account.
The San Francisco Bay Area-based company bills itself as a provider of payment infrastructure for merchants and payment service providers.
Narrating how she joined the fintech company, she said:
“My interest in helping growing businesses meant I spent my weekends helping to craft strategies that address key business issues. It was on one of such calls that I met Olugbenga Agboola in 2017.
We met most weekends until I finally decided to make the big jump towards the end of 2018 to become the Chief Operating Officer of Flutterwave, Africa’s largest payment network.”
Abifarin’s resignation comes after Oneal Bhambani, the former CFO of Flutterwave, departed the company in November after serving in that capacity for just eighteen months.
In her departing post, she appreciated Flutterwave partners, regulators, providers and stakeholders for their unwavering support.
“I especially want to appreciate team Flutterwave, the last 6 years of this journey has been made successful by your dedication, passion and ability to show up and show out all the time.
I appreciate my family and tribe, both people I am related to and people that are my tribe because they chose to be,” she wrote.
Reacting to the resignation, Olugbenga Agboola, founder and CEO of Flutterwave, thanked Abifarin for her effort and expressed optimism that the now-former COO is going for a greater cause.
“Since our inception, Bode has been the heartbeat of our operations, infusing her passion and dedication into every aspect at Flutterwave.
“Her achievements are not just milestones; they are stories of resilience, collaboration, and triumph that have shaped the very essence of who we are,” he posted.
