Cote d’Ivoire beat defending champions, Senegal, 5-4 on penalties, after a 1-1 draw in regular time, to reach the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals.

The Ivorians stepped up their game from the beginning of the matching, matching up the defending champions. The push the game into extra time and later into penalties, to set a quarter finals tie with Cape Verde.
