Tinubu directs probe of Ibadan explosion

President Bola Tinubu has expressed sadness over the devastating explosion in Ibadan, directing relevant authorities to identify and sanction those behind the inexcusable and reckless behaviour.

In a statement signed by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, on Wednesday, Tinubu said: “It is worrisome that the cause of the blast is being attributed to the activities of illegal miners.

“Those behind the inexcusable and reckless behaviour that has created the conditions for the sad incident to occur must be fished out and punished.”

Also, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu sympathised with his Oyo State counterpart, Seyi Makinde, and the Oyo State Government over Tuesday’s Ibadan explosion.

Governor Sanwo-Olu described the sad incident as disheartening and unfortunate and wished the victims, peace, comfort and lots of love at this time of sorrow.
