A non-governmental organisation, the Vanguard for Truth Foundation, has asked the Federal Government to quickly intervene on the alleged N200 feeding money for inmates per day.

A statement by the Director-General of the foundation, Alhaji Yusuf Ibrahim, stated this in Abuja on Thursday.

According to the organisation, such a feeding sum was too meagre and could prompt a jail break.

Consequently, the Director-General called for quick intervention from the authorities to avoid a jail break due to low-quality feeding, especially when the Minister of Interior, Mr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, is introducing some reforms in the system.

Ibrahim hailed the minister for various reforms since he assumed office in the agencies under his ministry.

He Nigerians appreciate the minister’s reforms in the Nigerian Immigration Service, adding that his urgent intervention in the Nigerian Correctional Service was highly needed.
