Egyptian Drug Authority signs MoU with NAFDAC
Dr. Tamer Essam, the President of the Egyptian Drug Authority, on Wednesday, virtually signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).
Dr Mojisola Adeyeye, the Director-General of NAFDAC, and Dr Ali Pate, the Nigerian Health Minister, signed on behalf of Nigeria.
The signing ceremony witnessed the presence of Major General Bahaa Eldin Zidan, the Head of the Egyptian Unified Procurement Authority for Medical Supplies, Aliaa Barhan, the Deputy Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for African Affairs (South African countries), and Counselor Samah Abdel Monem Badawy, the Acting Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Nigeria, alongside Egyptian Drug Authority leaders.
Dr Essam highlighted the significance of the MoU, saying it is a cornerstone in the development of pharmaceutical relations between Egypt and Nigeria.
He stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation, sharing experiences, and exchanging information between the two countries.
He invited his Nigerian counterparts to visit Egypt and organize joint meetings to develop this collaboration further.
”This initiative aligns with efforts to bolster regional and African cooperation and support the access of Egyptian medical products in African markets.
”It also aims to strengthen international recognition of pharmaceutical regulation in Egypt,” he added.
