Another drama has been added to the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State as the House of Assembly is currently being demolished.

Many caterpillars were seen around the building during the demolition with swirls of dust covering the whole area in smoke.

Sources denied that the demolition was linked to the political crisis, but political sources insisted that it linked to politics, especially to prevent the 27 Assemblymen would not meet to impeach him.

It is true that a section of the assembly complex, built by the Odili administration in state, was due for repairs, but it is worrisome that the entire structure was being demolished.

However, political analysts say the mace remains the symbol of authority which allows the lawmakers to sit anywhere.

And the mace is with the Speaker Ehie’s faction. It is, however, to be seen how the four legislators with Ehie will pass the budget, which the Fubara Executive Council approved only a few days ago.

Indications are that to prevent journalists from reporting the story of the demolition, they were threatened with death.
