FG, NLC, TUC At NSA’s Office Over Nationwide Strike

A team of the leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and the Trade Union Congress, TUC, are currently meeting with the Federal Government aimed at ending the ongoing nationwide strike.
The meeting, at the office of the National Security Adviser, NSA, in Abuja, has in attendance the Minister of Labour, Simon Bako Lalong, Minister of State, Nkeiruka Onyeajeocha, and NSA, Nuhu Ribadu.
Also at the meeting at the side of the labour leaders are: the TUC President, Festus Osifo; NLC Secretary General, Emmanuel Ugboaja, and other Labour leaders.
The NLC and the TUC had declared a nationwide strike, demanding the arrest of the suspected thugs and their sponsors.
This followed the attack on the NLC president, Joe Ajaero, in Owerri, Imo State capital on November 1 by suspected thugs when he led workers’ protest over unpaid salary.
