UK court: Diezani Alison-Madueke gets £70,000 bail in bribery case

Former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, has perfected her bail conditions of £70,000, after appearing before the Westminster Magistrates Court in the United Kingdom on Monday, over an alleged £100,000 bribe.
The district judge, Michael Snow further imposed other terms including an 11 pm to 6 am curfew, an electronic tag to be worn by her at all times and a £70,000 surety to be paid before she could leave the court building.
During her appearance at Westminster Magistrates Court, she provided her name, date of birth, and address.
The former Petroleum Resources Minister was charged in the United Kingdom court today, October 2, 2023.
Alison-Madueke, charged in a London Westminster magistrates court, faces six charges, including corruption and money laundering while in office as Petroleum Resources Minister.
She was also accused of collecting bribes, including gift of a plane.
The former minister, who is standing trial with two others, would be released to bail upon payment of the bail bond. She was yet to fulfil the bail bond.
