Shehu Sani says FG ending borrowing relieving, but how will Nigeria get out of Buhari’s debt pit

A former Senator for Kaduna Central Senatorial District and human rights activist, Shehu Sani, said it was gladdening that the Federal Government was ending borrowing.

Sani, however, questioned how Nigeria will get iut of the debt pit.

The former Senator took to his official X account, formerly known as Twitter, to react as the Finance Minister, Mr Wale Edun, says the Federal Government has ended borrowing.

Edun said the Federal Government has no intention to borrow from any local or foreign organization with its removal of subsidy on petrol and exchange rate harmonization.

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy spoke at the end of the inaugural Federal Executive Council meeting on Monday in Abuja.

However, Sani, who reacted on his microblogging, Twitter page, said government has ended borrowing to finance subsidy.

According to Sani, it’s relieving to hear from the Finance Minister that the FG has ended borrowing from both local and international sources.

However, he said now the task is how to get out of the pit of the debt left behind by the Buhari regime.

In his tweet, Shehu Sani wrote below:
