LASEMA recovers lifeless body of man who Jumped Into Lagos Lagoon two days after

The Lagos State Emergency and Rescue Agency (LASEMA) has recovered the lifeless body of a man who jumped into the Lagos lagoon on Thursday two days after an intensive search and rescue operations.

The man, yet-to-be unidentified, jumped into the lagoon at the Lekki-Ikoyi link Bridge end on Tuesday.

The remains is said to have been bagged immediately for onward movement to the Lagos morgue by the State Environmental Health Management Unit (SEHMU).

Eyewitnesses confirmed sighting the man jumping from the Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge into the lagoon.

One of the eyewitnesses, Temitope, in a tweet stated: “Depression is real tbh Someone just jumped into the Ikoyi link bridge water right in front of me, not quite long. Hope he will not be lifeless before the rescue team arrives.”

The spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident, saying: “Our men are there, controlling the crowd as other rescue teams arrive”.
