Ronaldo takes swipe at Messi, says Saudi League better than MLS
Cristiano Ronaldo has taken a swipe at his soccer counterpart, Lionel Messi, who joined the Major League Soccer.
Ronaldo, who joined Al Nassr striker in Saudi Arabia from Manchester United this year, affirmed that the Saudi Pro League is better than the Major League Soccer (MLS).
Ronaldo’s comments came barely days after his eternal rival Lionel Messi signed for Inter Miami.
Messi left Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent this summer and snubbed a move to Saudi, where he would have renewed his rivalry with Ronaldo.
However, Ronaldo insisted he made the better choice, pointing to players flocking to the Middle East as proof.
“Saudi league is better than MLS. I opened the way to the Saudi league… and now all the players are coming here,” Ronaldo said.
