Police dismiss Inspector for alleged killing of Lagos technician

One Inspector Kabiru Odeyemi, who killed a generator technician in Lagos State has been dismissed by the state Police Command.

The generator technician, identified as Bakare Idris, was shot dead by the police inspector attached to Alausa Police Division in Lagos earlier in May 2023.

The victim was shot dead at Oregun area of Lagos after a heated argument ensued between him and the officer.

He was buried at the Ifo area of Ogun State, but his family has demanded justice for their son.

The Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, announced the Inspector’s dismissal in a tweet on Wednesday.

He said the development would pave way for the arraignment of the suspect, scheduled for Friday, July 7.

The tweet reads, “The recommendation for dismissal of Inspector Kabiru Odeyemi was today approved. This paves way for his arraignment, which will take place on Friday, July 7, 2023.

“The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Idowu Owohunwa, assures Lagosians of his unwavering determination to police the state within the dictates of rule of law, civility and respect for human life”.
