
More Industrial Development Underway – Ogun Govt

The Ogun State Government says the ongoing reorganisation of the state-owned industrial hubs/clusters will strengthen the operations of development and growth, especially in the areas of access to city, industrial clusters and others.
This is as the government disclosed that the administration of Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun was working to complete a new industrial road in Agbara area of the state.
The Secretary to the state government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi made this known while interface with members of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), group 1, set 45, 2023, senior executive course, Kuru, Jos,on study tour of the state, with the theme: “Industrialization,Climate Change and Energy Security in Nigeria: Issues,Challenges & Prospects”.
He said that the state government was opened to partnership to develop more small and medium-scale industrial hubs for increased economic production and export within the available enterprise zones in various parts of the state.
He said that Dapo Abiodun-led administration decided not only to consolidate on the achievement of the past administration but to chart new development course that would adequately fulfil the dreams of the founding fathers.
He said that the government has directed its efforts and resources to the successful implementation of the ISEYA mantra as encapsulated in the “Building Our Future Together” agenda.
Meanwhile, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Industry Trade and Investment, Dr. Olu, Ola Aikulola disclosed that the government had embarked on various policies and programmes in the industrial sector which have not only translated into strengthened governance structure but earned present administration award of the best state in policy formulation.
He said the state was one of the leading states in Agriculture which the state had developed a special Agro-industrial Processing Zone (SPAPZ), saying it was an integrated development initiative designed to concentrate on agro-processing activities in an area with high agricultural potential in the state.
He later said that the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies was known to be a high-level centre for reflection, research and learning with the primary objective of serving as the nation’s foremost policy ‘think-tank’ that developed a crop of top-class technocrats for high intellectual capacity.
“The government is open to receiving development partners who are willing to work with the state government in the development of more small and medium-scale industrial hubs for increased economic production and export within the available enterprise zones in various parts of the state.’’
