Appointment of Igbo as Naval Chief won’t stop Biafra referendum -Ekpa, IPOB leader
Simon Ekpa, a popular Biafra agitator, said appointment of Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, Chief of Naval Staff, who hails from Enugu, South-East has not changed the struggle fir the Republic of Biafra.
President Bola Tinubu had replaced all service chiefs on Monday and appointed new ones.
However, Ekpa, the Finland-based lawyer and Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government in Exile, in a statement via his official Twitter handle, said the development cannot quell the call for Biafra referendum.
According to him, the appointment will not end the pervasive diversity, challenges by the of the Nigerian government that are propelling the Biafra libration agitation.
“I have observed how ignorant Nigerians are reacting to the appointment of New Service Chiefs and i laugh. What magic will the new service chief do? Will they remove Shettima as the vice President? Will it change the Islamic state agenda which is the reason for the insecurity and terrorism all over Nigeria? Will they abolish the 1989 Abuja declaration?
“The answer to the above questions is NO, it doesn’t change anything. Then I read that he appointed someone from Enugu state as Chief of Naval Staff and i laugh. Chief of Naval staff has always come from the South. Will the new service chief stop Biafra from Exiting Nigeria? Will they abolish the 1999 Constitution? Will they abolish the faulty amalgamation of Nigeria? Will they recover the ancestral land that were invaded by the Fulanis across Nigeria?
“These are fundamental issues that bring about the dangerous and destructive diversity that are propelling the Biafra Liberation and will push it to a conclusive end of Independence. Biafra Liberation is on top gear and our goal is to make sure nothing works in Nigeria until Biafra Exit,”he wrote.
