EPL: Pochettino’s two priorities at Chelsea: new goalkeeper and new No. 9
Two positions are being prioritised at Chelsea in the summer transfer market when new manager, Pochettino, takes over: a new goalkeeper and new No. 9.
Football pundit and transfer expert, Alex Crook, disclosed this, saying the new manager is considering tge controversies around Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga.
The former Tottenham boss is expected to be announced as the boss at Stamford Bridge any time from now with all agreements having been reached.
The former PSG boss signed a three-year deal and would take over permanently from Graham Potter, who was sacked a couple of weeks ago.
“Mauricio Pochettino has two key positions in mind when it comes to the summer transfer window,” Crook told talkSPORT.
“He wants a new goalkeeper, with doubts over the quality of both Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga – Inter Milan’s Andre Onana is already being lined up to come in and take that No.1 jersey.
“Pochettino also knows Chelsea are in desperate need of a goalscoring No.9 and he’s an admirer of the Inter Milan and Argentina striker Lautaro Martinez.
“Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is another potential target,” he said.
