National Assembly Service Commission appoints Tambuwal as new Clerk to NASS
The National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) has appointed Mr Sani Magaji Tambuwal as the acting Clerk to the National Assembly (CNA).
Tambuwal was the Secretary Finance and Accounts of the National Assembly before this appointment.
The position of CNA became vacant following the retirement of Arc. Amos Olatunde Ojo on Tuesday.
The NASC also elevated Mr Ogunlana Kamoru from the post of Secretary Legal Services to that of Acting Deputy CNA.
Mrs Henrietta Aimua-Ehikioya (Secretary Special Duties) was redeployed to the post of Secretary Legal Services.
The Director Legislative, Mr Birma Shuaibu, was elevated to the post of Secretary, Human Resources Directorate, while Mr Umoru Barde Ali (Director Pharmacy) was appointed as the acting Secretary of Research and Information.
Other are Mr Omogbehin Yomi (Director Legislative) appointed as acting Secretary Special Duties and Mr. Inyang Clement Titus (Director of Accounts) elevated to to the post of Secretary, Finance and Accounts.
Mr. Nwoba Andrew (Director Administration) was elevated to the position of acting Secretary, Planning and Legislative Budget.
The new appointments were announced in a statement signed by the Executive Chairman of NASC, Ahmed Kadi Amshi.
Amshi noted that the appointments were sequel to the approval by the Commission of a memorandum presented by the Committee on Establishment, Records and Training to the Commission on the need to fill existing vacancies in the National Assembly Management team.
He said: “The Commission further resolved that the outgoing Clerk to the National Assembly, Olatunde Amos continues to work with the acting Clerk to the National Assembly, Sani Tambuwal until his retirement date of 14th February 2023 to ensure the success of the ongoing 2023 Appropriation Bill’s processing that should be transmitted by only the substantive Clerk to the National Assembly accordance with the provisions of the Authentication Act.
