2027: Obi-Kwankwaso ticket against our spirit, say Obiedients, insist on Datti
Obidients have flauted the proposed Peter Obi-Rabiu Kwankwaso presidential candidacy for the 2027 General Election, saying the ticket is antithetical to the spirit and stragegy as well as aims of the movement.
Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the 2023 elections, had earlier expressed his willingness to be a running mate to Peter Obi, his Labour Party counterpart, in the 2027 elections.
However, the Obidients group has apparently with unanimity, is agsinst the idea of Rabiu Kwankwaso running as deputy to Peter Obi, insisting that Datti Ahmed is their man in 2027.
The Obidients, as rabid supporters of the 2023 presidential candidate of Labour Party, are called, said the prospect of Kwankwaso becoming running mate to Peter Obi in the 2027 presidential election is dead on arrival.

Man almost took a bullet for us in 2023. and was insulted & called all manner of names,even his family wasn’t spared, cuz he agreed to work with PO & Obidients.PO is not Atiku. We won’t betray Datti.

Only recently, Kwankwaso had stated that he would accept to be running mate to Peter Obi if certain conditions are met. In a video clip trending on social media, the northern politician said establishing trust is crucial for any potential agreement.
Kwankwaso said he is politically bigger than Obi, citing his PhD holder status and impressive performance as governor.
According to him, “I’m bigger than Peter Obi politically, I’m his elder brother, I’m a PhD holder, I performed better than him when I was a governor of my state. I’ve no problem with deputizing Peter Obi, but only if certain conditions are met.
“We are willing to engage in discussions, provided that trust is established”.
Kwankwaso had recently given his indication to deputise Peter Obi for the 2027 election.
