2024 World Sight Day: Epe Residents To Get Free Eye Surgery, Glasses
The Epe Local Government Council, in collaboration with Nigerian Optometric Association, Lagos Chapter has concluded arrangements to organise a 2-day free eye care programme for thousands of residents of the council area, which will commence on the 10th and ends on the 11th of October, 2024.
According the press release, signed by the Chairperson of the Council, Ms. Surah Animashaun, indicated that free exercise was to commemorate the 2024 World Sight Day, with the theme: “Love Your Eyes – Kids”, which to be held at the Local Government Secretariat, Ita-Marun, Epe, Lagos State.
The release further indicated that during exercise the residents of the council will enjoy free eye surgeries, eye glasses and drugs for the first 200 children, free opthalmic drugs free screening, testing and free eye glasses for an elderly people.
She said thousands of others will gain access to free consultations, screening, and other corrective eye care interventions, enjoined residents across the local government, especially the aged to maximize the opportunity of receiving quality eye care services from the best hands.
The release further enjoined the residents of the council, especially the participants and patients to be seated by 9am every day, in order to be attended to as early as possible.
