2023: We’ll come after your thugs, NASA Monguno warns govs threatening opponents

The National Security Adviser (NSA), Major General Babagana Monguno (retd), has warned state governors using thugs to prevent the opposition from mounting campaign materials in their states.
Monguno said security agencies will soon descend on them to open up the space for unfettered political campaigns by the opposition parties.
Monguno warned that there would be no hiding place for such perpetrators when law enforcement agencies take steps.
He gave the warning on Thursday while anchoring the ministerial briefing at the state house.
Monguno’s reaction came amid reports of state governors implementing policies that prevent the presence of opposition campaign materials in their states, an action he blamed on inferiority complex.
He stressed that President Muhammadu Buhari had given clear instructions that the forthcoming elections in 2023 must be free, fair and credible.
