Osinbajo’s helicopter in forced landing

A police chopper, conveying Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, today, on Friday, June 8, 2018, suddenly developed technical hitch just after take-off.

Vice President Osinbajo was slated to attend the graduation ceremony of Customs Command and StaffCollege, Senior Course 1/2018, at Gwagwalada, Abuja.

The chopper was said to have only gained about 15 feet height when fumes started oozing out of the engine and it had to be forced to land immediately.

Vice President Osinbajo had to make his journey to the graduation on road.

His spokesman, Laolu Akande, in a tweet later wrote: “VP Osinbajo attended the graduation ceremony of Nigeria Customs Senior Course in Gwagwalada today. On his way back it was decided, for technical reasons, not to fly the chopper that had brought him to the venue. He drove back to the Presidential Villa & continued his schedule.”
