Court of Appeal upholds Oyetola’s election as Osun gov

The Court Appeal sitting in Abuja on Thursday nullified the Governorshiop Election Petition Tribunal’ s verdict which dismisses the election of Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State.

The Election Tribunal had on March 22, 2019, held that the Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke, won the Osun State guber poll and nullified the victory Governor Oyetola.

However, in three separate appeals filed by Governor Oyetola, the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, filed appeal at the Court of Appeal, asking the Court to set aside the March 22, 2019.judgement of the tribunal which declared Senator Adeleke winner of the governorship poll.

In a judgement read by.Justice Jumai Sankey, the Court of Appeal on Thursday stated that the election tribunal was in its judgement in nullifying Oyetola’s victory.
